Hello, and welcome!
Chances are this is our first meeting, you and me. We most likely did not know one another in the business world, but if we did, I am so grateful that you followed me here. And if you truly are brand new to me, I am so happy to meet you!
Last year, I took a huge step back from a 37-year career in marketing and brand development and simultaneously concluded our family's homeschooling journey of 25 years with the graduation of our youngest from high school. The past year has allowed my head to clear and welcome the generosity of unstructured time into daily life. While I still dabble in helping brands find their place in the world, I have a few other balls in the air that feed my creative side. As of now, I have a working draft of a new business plan and prototypes of products long-ago concocted in my head but never brought to fruition. I have a planner filled with copious notes on two book ideas and thoughts for a sit-com about homebuilders (fictional, of course, not depicting any actual persons or events…wink, wink). We'll see what comes of each.
This space though is special to me because I often wonder if anybody really wants to hear what I have to say. Truly. I have always listened more than I share which is convenient really because one tends to learn more listening, observing, and doing rather than only pontificating. So let’s see where this journey takes us and who’s listening. Your shared comments, thoughts, and ideas will help me navigate the conversation.
What you won’t find here is more lifestyle, fashion or cooking articles…at least on a regular basis that is. There is plenty on each subject on the blogosphere, and I am not sure that I would have enough new or captivating things to say beyond what is already out there on these topics anyway. My hope for Life, Logic & Laughter is to explore narratives and curiosities that capture my own life experiences and attempt to express them out into the world because I believe stories don’t just entertain – they shape the way we see the world.
I am inspired by these words from Lee Iacocca, “…the discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen.” So then, let’s get to it!
If you’re inspired too, please leave me a comment below telling me about one of your life’s curiosities!
